Bandy Bandy, Vermicella intermedia

This is something you don't see every day. Especially if you are a blind snake (in which case you only "see" it once, on your last
day). During one of my more unusual occupations I pull animals out of trenches and found this Bandy bandy eating a
Rhamphotyphlops diversus. It didn't want to let go, even during the handling necessary to release it from the trench.

Amazing action shot. The black/white snake looks like our California Kingsnake. It this venemous as it doesn't appear to be killing by constriction? Voted.
