The beginnings of an "urban sprawl" around Ria de Alvor. This development at Vale de Lama ("Vally of Mud") is slowly increasing but some of these houses built ten or more years ago have still never been sold or occupied. It is rumoured that this is the result of "black" money, probably of Russian origin.
