Many thanks to Les for the correct identification, I originally mis-labled it as a Cinnbar Moth.
Which is also red & black but differently patterned

Fabulously detailed shot Tim - I love the elctric blue on it's antenna and the thistles in the background complete the picture perfectly. I agree with Les' identification....
