M-42, the Great Nebula in Orion

Few objects are photographed more than this big, bright nebula in Orion's belt. This photo is a combination of 5 exposures of 3 minutes each, using a Nikon D80 and a 500mm f/4 lens with a 1.4x teleconverter.
It was taken under dark skies at Harrington Beach State Park on December 19, 2006.
