The "Bayan" drum appears in different shapes and sizes, but as the "Dayan" the skin surface indicates three playing areas: The outer edge, the inner circle and the black center, which is covered by a special paste and resounds very dampened.

Die größere "Bayan" erscheint auch manchmal in eckiger Form und kennt wie die "Dayan" drei verschiedene Spielzonen: Den äußeren Rand, den inneren Kreis und die schwarze Kohlefläche, die sehr gedämpft klingt. Wie bei der "Dondo" wird hier durch Druck mit dem Handballen der linken Hand die Tonhöhe nachträglich verändert.
