January 2nd

I found out something very cool today about my flash that I didn't know. Of course, my main mode is "oblivious", and it holds true here. Turns out, I can use my flash as a slave as well as a main flash! So I used the built in flash on my camera in addition to the big flash. It really helped reduce the strong shadows. Again, I did no Photoshopping here other than reducing the size of the file and adding my name.

Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi
1/60s f/5.6 at 55.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

I like how you did this with the remote flash. very good.

The great thing about master-slave flash work is that it makes it really easy to get the light source away from the camera (and therefore have far more choice about where it should be).

This is such a beautiful shot - I like them best when they come pure from the camera, I think photoshop spoils many great shots. Interesting to learn about the flashes.
