Dominique, Thanks for the comments. Yes, these big airshows can make a long day holding these SLR's and big lenses for so long, but worthwhile (my favourite subject!). Just had a look at your excellent Payerne airshow gallery, looks like it was a good show with many similar aircraft to the RIAT-04 display but with some better weather! I particularly like the shots of the 5 team flypast (Patrouille Suisse, Red Arrows, Team 60, Patrulla Aguila, Frecce Tricolori,http://www.pbase.com/tcom/image/33410357), a very special flypast! The Red Arrows did a flypast with a F117 NightHawk at RIAT-03 that was special http://www.pbase.com/idhardy/image/19373772/original) but I'd have like to have seen your multi-team flypast. Your pictures are great. I have learned that taking pictures at an airshow is not easy. Handhelding an SLR with a big telezoom is already hard enough, but the crowd standing around you makes it even more difficult to follow the planes. I took pictures this year at the airshow in Switzerland Air04 in Payerne. The photos are underhttp://www.pbase.com/tcom/air04 . Thank you for sharing Dominique

A really nice portfolio of images Ian. Well presented, good exposures and some cracking angles. On Saturday, once the sun broke through it was almost perfect conditions to photograph aircraft. Sunday started nice but clouded over again by midday. Well done.
