I was lucky to spend a fantastic 3 days on holiday in the 'Big Apple' at the end of April 2001. This was my first holiday armed with a digital camera (a Canon G1). While I've always treasured these photo's, I've not had them online until now (Feb 2005).
Only a few months after this holiday, these pictures took on a new meaning with the terrible events of 11th September 2001. The World Trade Center had made a great photographic subject and a fantastic camera platform! Following that day I can not look at these pictures without thinking of the tens of thousands of people who worked in the WTC, who we had sped past in the lift on our way to the top observation floors only a few months before.
