In February 2020 I visited Spain with the main attraction being a chance to see Iberian Lynx. We visited the beautiful private estate of Peņalajo which is about 227 km south of Madrid. The nearest town is Santa Cruz de Mudela. I was lucky to get a short but exciting view of two juvenile Iberian Lynxes close by a photo hide. The birding at Peņalajo was also excellent.
The last couple of days were spent at the National Park of Las Tablas de Daimiel which gave some good birding and an amazing chance encounter with a European WIldcat.
