The Snowy Owl had been on my 'most wanted' list of birds for many years, having made several failed attempts to twitch one in quite remote Scottish locations. A couple of weeks before the date of my already booked trip to St Kilda reports started to appear of one being seen regularly close to the village. On my first free moment of the photography trip I headed up to where the bird had last been seen and was rewarded with some pretty good views. The bird was still being reported from the island, though often in rather remote locations, several months later.
