Short-toed Lark

(alaemon alaupides)
The (Greater) Short-toed lark is a Mediterranean species and is an occasional vagrant to the UK. The bird in these photos is rather wet after a heavy downpour. It was quite easy to pick out in a small flock of Skylarks being smaller and much paler than the others.
