Great Skua (Bonxie)
(stercorarius skua)
The Great Skua, or its local name of Bonxie, is common on both the Shetland Islands and on Fair Isle. They breed on open moorland usually close to the nesting colonies of Gannets, Puffins and other sea birds on which they prey.
