Pheasant

(phasianus colchicus)
The (Common) Pheasant is a non-native bird introduced to the UK for game shooting. Most birds seen will have been farm reared for shooting. A few of these birds will survive each year and form a feral breeding population. Most people's view of a Pheasant is when one makes a suicidal dash across a road into the path of approaching traffic.
