Melodious Warbler

(hippolais ployglotta)
In Scotland, the Melodious Warbler is a scrace but regular passage migrant in spring and autumn. Its normal breeding range is in SW Europe. It is very similar to the Icterine Warbler whose range in the rest of Europe barley overlaps. In fact, the bird in these photos was originally identified as an Icterine Warbler and was only re-identified as a Melodious Warbler after better photos were shared.
