Loch Lomond NNR - December 2010

The early winter of 2010 was exceptionally hard with nearly a month of sub zero temperatures and several snowfalls. The low lying basin of Loch Lomond was shrouded in freezing fog for days on end which led to a remarkable build up of ice crystals on all exposed surfaces, especially on the trees.
