The Garden Warbler is a summer migrant usually arriving in the first week of May. It is most often found in open woodland, parks and scrubby bushy areas. It is a particuarly drab bird with few field marks for identification - in fact it is most easly identified as being uniformly drab with a prominent eye. However it has a most pleasant song, similar in was to that of the Blackcap but usually longer and quieter.
