We had two days in a hide in the Kuusamo area where Golden Eagles have been habituated to come in to a feeding station. The first day was disappointing in that two birds flew in and settled on the trees close by but neither of them came down to feed. We had better luck on the second day - an adult male bird came in to the bait and began to feed. It took fright at some movement or camera noise and flew off but it came back in again after a short while and fed vigorously on the carrion which had been nailed down to various logs giving spectacular views of this magnificent bird. The light conditions were a bit severe on both occasions with strong sunlight backlighting the scene.
