This day there was an amazing temperature inversion that covered most of the Scottish mainland. In the lowlands, it was a gloomy, dark day of freezing fog but only a few hundred feet higher there was a sparkling sun and blue skies. I had a wonderful walk up to and around Burncrooks Reservoir in the Kilpatrick Hills.
