When motorcycle ace Steve Hislop was killed in the wreckage of his Robinson 44 helicopter on a lonely Scottish hillside a few miles south of Hawick, he was reigning British Superbike champion.
Steve was born 41 years earlier, and now buried, in the village of Southdean to the south east of Hawick and, in recognition of his many achievements throughout the world, an exhibition is in its second year at the Drumlanrig Tower in Hawick and well worth a visit.
