Jimmie Guthrie was a motorcycle racer who was born in Hawick on May 23rd 1897 and died at the Sachsenring racetrack in Germany on August 8th 1937.
During his career he won 19 Grand Prix and 3 North West 200 races as well as 6 Isle of Man TT wins.
The Memorial Run started and finished in Denholm with a stop over at his statue in Wilton Lodge park, Hawick where his son Jimmie and his daughter Margaret laid a wreath.
These photos were taken at Bedrule, Borthaugh and Wilton Lodge Park where the museum also houses the Steve Hislop collection, another Superstar of the Motorcycle Racing world.
