Steve Hislop, former British Superbike Champion was killed in a helicopter crash in July 2004. However his memory lives on in many ways, statues, exhibitions and the Memorial Run. Originating at the Erskine Bridge in the west of Scotland and the Tay Bridge at Dundee, in the east, the riders eventually converge on Hawick in their hundreds to visit the statue in Wilton Lodge Park which is followed by a short 5 mile to Denholm where Steve lived and worked and began his formidable racing career.
