The only thing perfect about these images is the feeling that it evokes for the spectator. At times it feels like the 1800’s, at other times it feels like Soviet days, at times it feels that church is too wealthy and spends its money in the wrong places – because last I heard god is everywhere.  But, what these photos show most clearly is that in a world where the difference between the rich and poor are as stark as this—it is difficult to imagine that there is a god who is concerned about fairness in this world.  Do not get me wrong—there is much that I did not capture that is good and many changes occurring, but in Kyiv the world is for millionaires, while here the world stands still.
