Carcassonne Rouge

Carcassonne, Rousillon, France.

The medieval ramparts of the walled town of Carcasonne is a stunning location to behold especially as it is so wonderfully illuminated at night. I photographed the town from a back road with a scrubby vineyard in front of it. There was no hope of retaining detail in this, so I let it blacken into a silhouette and let it provide an attractive black fringe for the walled town.

Wow, splendid panorama and colors, fantastic shot. The full moon and suburbs' lights add a lot.
