Island Pines Assynt

Loch Assynt, Sutherland, Scotland.

Loch Assynt in the extreme North of Scotland is known for it's islands of Scots Pine trees. Some of them are clustered close to the shore and when the light of a setting sun rakes across and lights them they look absolutely beautiful. I had an equally dramatic sky which I usually leave uncropped but in this case I did not want your gaze distracted from the pine trees so I chose to crop to a panoramic.

Beautiful capture of the late afternoon light amongst the trees - would be a lovely sight to see in person.

This is lovely! Great lighting- and I think you were right to crop. It highlights the trees much better.
