A Winter Symphony

Sugar Bowl, Cairngorm, Highlands, Scotland.

It is surely true that everything looks a whole lot more beautiful with a dusting of fresh snow. The old wind battered Scots Pine trees have turned peppermint green and as the sun makes a brief appearance through the veil of snow laden clouds it paints the background slopes vivid orange a particularly effective counter hue to the aforementioned green. I managed to separate the most poignant of the pines so that the shape was clearly defined providing a natural focal point, the available light supplied all the artistry for me.

There's a lot to like in this photo - it's the shades of green in the trees mixed with the snow that does it for me. Cairngorms?
