Contrejour Sligachan

Sligachan, Skye, Scotland.

Very difficult to photograph this place directly into the light and very careful shading was necessary to eliminate chronic lens flare but the results are very pleasing. I used the large block of rock midstream to take the brunt of the reflected glare so it didn't overpower the shot. Sligachan is a wonderful place with unsurpassed mountain views.

F22 at 1/4 sec, 0.9ND grad on sky and 0.45ND grad (reversed) on reflection leaving mid band of image unfiltered. That took care of the worst of the exposure extremes metered from grass in the middle. full exif

This is a beautiful image. I loved the area when I was there and took a 360 panorama of Glen Sligachan. Not as pretty as the shot you have, but it gives a good feel for the surrounding area:http://www.panoramicearth.com/613/Skye/Loch_Sligachan_and_Glen_Sligachan
