Coastal Light

Hopeman, Moray, Scotland.

That glorious moment when the sun makes its first appearance below a layer of cloud and floods in bouncing across water and wet rock. The elation I feel basking in those last few moments of warmth I can feel my heart physically swell drinking in the sheer beauty, everything is right again with the world troubles melt away and are swept out to sea. At the coast these feelings are even more sharply defined, the tide washing away the old revealing the new not once, but twice in a day.

My ancestors (Davidsons) came to America from Hopeman. Thanks for showing me what my great-grandfather saw as a young man!

I live here, am recently separated and views like these, on my doorstep, make life seem worth living again! Keep up the wonderful work Ian and thank you!

Wonderful photo. I grew up in this village by the sea and the scene is very familiar to me. Thanks for sharing!

Love the light on the rocks and the balance with the sky.
