Blue Damsel

Loch Ard, Aberfoyle, Scotland.

Damsel Flys are annoying critters to photograph except early in the morning when the sun is yet to warm them sufficiently for them to take flight. This beautiful blue damsel had alighted on a stem of seed grass. I used a relatively open aperture to throw the backgound out of focus and adopted a plane view to minimise problems with reduced depth of field.

Brilliant! Thanks for relaying the secret of photographing them before it is too warm. ~BV~
