As I was backpacking, my mission to climb to the rim of the caldera for sunrise, commenced at an ungodly 2am, complete with head torch. I arrived before dawn when the tourist buses arrive. I am absolutely convinced I gained a magical experience that the masses were not privvy too. The sense of recession over the volcanic peaks was just gorgeous.
