Painted Teeth

Tungeneset, Senja, Norway

This stunning jaw bone of pointed dentures belong to the so called Devils teeth at Tungeneset in Senja. I have passed by them often but this was the most awesome light I have ever seen them displayed in. The snow was bathed in low red light which had found its way beneath a layer of cloud and turned it violet in combination with a relatively clear overhead sky. The shadowed snow immediately turned vivid blue out of the reach of the direct light of the setting sun, the Teeth themselves were splashed with blood as the sun duly set on its evening meal. It was a staggering sight.
