I have quite often driven to the Inversnaid Falls at the end of the road that passes by beautiful loch Arklett but this is the first time I had been there in such bleak and blustery conditions with pouring rain and a sky that was essentially the colour of lead and guess what this proved to be the very best light I could have hoped for, the high contrast scene was softened and the colours glowed including the swirling autumnal river of fallen beech leaves circulating at the end of the various cascades that produced golden strips of colour in the peaty water.
