A day or so of sunshine and the snow that covered these gorgeous oxbow canals at Yttresand had almost completely melted leaving pristine cushions of golden grass that looked like a very, very well groomed lion's mane between each clump was a line of blue snow from the light of a reflected clear sky at sunrise, a very powerful combination of opposing hues. I waited for the light to just about burst through and form diverging rays of light, then positioned myself as optimally as possible to pick up the reflection of blue sky and golden rays in the two arms of the oxbow.
