This tiny wee lochan is normally photographed from the roadside gazing west towards the distinctive peaks of Inverpolly but during the bleak mid winter the sunrises much further south and as I was passing I noticed the loch was in a semi frozen state akin to a Slush Puppy (a grunged up ice cold flavoured slushy drink). Aware of the snow covered fallen trees at the far end of the lochan, I picked my way through wet new snow to the waters edge and photographed the scene towards the rising sun across the slushy surface which turned to butterscotch in the warm morning light.
