Birch trees have one major advantage when a heavy frost is in the air as it was on this very fine winter's day on the edge of the Cairngorm National Park, the twiggery is so dense and fine that when they get coated in rime the tree top turns almost completely white thus conveying that sense of chill cold very effectively. I am usually averse to employing polarisation to this level, but I allowed myself an unusual degree of artistic license so that the dark blue sky would show off the frosted canopy that much better. I hope you like it and find it effective. It pleases me.
