This beautiful scene that opened up in front of me and the group I was leading one fantastic Autumn evening was surely one of the most remarkably colourful reflection pictures I have had the good fortune to witness. The water was not completely still but the side lighting on the larches and birch gave rise to some fabulous colours with kaleidoscopic symmetry. Even the sky looked remarkable with its dappled clouds in a laser blue sky.
