Rannoch Mirror

Rannoch Moor, Glencoe, Scotland

Decided to upload larger than usual so as to give it some impact in the pano format.

Some mornings you get up and you know they are going to be special. This was one of them, yes I had reservations about a cloudless sky but the thing is to try and use what your given to your advantage. I was faced with a lovely blue gradient and opposing warm hues where the rising sun had treated the Blackmount hills like a projector screen and consequently turned blood red at first light. The windless morning duly doubled the scenes impact in reflection.

NEW!! Photographic workshops and masterclasses and the 2011 Transient Light Calendars and fine art cards are now available at TRANSIENT LIGHT

The pink highlights the little island so magically. It makes it look like a little haven to escape to. V

I thought it looked very familiar - I think this was my all time favourite sunrise. The magic of the first time not knowing was going develop before us - very happy memories.
