Wind Warp

Achnahaird Bay, Inverpolly, Scotland

I visited the beach at Achnahaird Bay on a day of extremely high winds. The same wind had grabbed the sand off the beach beyond the dunes and literally scoured all in its path whipping needle sharp grains of sand into face hands and camera equipment potentially causing havoc. Every so often a slight lull in the wind promised a short window of comparative opportunity and I duly waited for the next squall to unleash its fury taking this at its stormiest and converting it to an extremely moody monochrome that summed up my feelings of that invigorating afternoon at the beach.

Excellent dunes shot, Ian. I find shooting dunes so challenging. Maybe I should try B&W with them. Really brings out the lines.

Amazing. The remaining sculpture is a wonder of nature. II expect you are one of only a handful of people who gets to see something like this before it disappears, and your capture of it is brilliant. V
