This was not the nicest of days to be out taking photographs, frequent winter squalls would blast wind driven hail and snow down the length of Selfjord towards the double bridge crossing at Fredvang and quite literally obliterate the view. This was taken at the deepest and darkest moment just prior to being struck and battered senseless by the sharp sting of wind driven hail. The light seeping through the mountains at the far end of the fjord was breathtaking against the sullen grey sky heavy with its cargo of ice particles and of course that darkness helped to wrest the exquisite colour out of the water as it passed over a shallow sand bank. Stunningly beautiful.
