The warmth of the first light glancing the red sand beach at Mellon Udrigle belies the bitingly cold winter morning on which I arrived to photograph this enchanting scene. A small meandering peat stream replete with coffee coloured standing waves splits the sandy cove the curve of water pulling you inexorably toward the mountain backdrop of Coigach and the turquoise water in the bay.
