Heavens Above

Forres, Moray, Scotland

I found myself at the foot of a sloping field of straw bales which backed on to a glorious sunset sky. The simplistic composition was elegant and very pleasing to the eye. I also realised that I would see more than my camera was capable of recording without serious help from neutral density graduated filters which would compress the colossal dynamic range to manageable levels. The resulting long exposure shows the effect of cloud movement combined with a setting sun.

NEW!! Photographic workshops and masterclasses and fine art cards are now available at TRANSIENT LIGHT

Beautiful. Love the moment captured in the sky against the still ground, very dynamic. BV

I just love it! the streakiness (is that a word?) of the clouds really make this scene. V
