Lone Bull

Hwange Nat Park, Zimbabwe, S. Africa.

I know this is unfamiliar ground for me and this is taken with Kodachrome 200 in 1997 but I still have to confess I have always been pleased with this shot so I scanned it and here is the result which is an excellent colour match for the original tranny. I was a poor student in those days and my life savings went on a 300mm CZ lens and a Contax ST. (all 2nd hand). I am sure it lacks vitality by todays modern digital images but I hope you enjoy it.

This is last light as a lone bull elephant pads down to a watering hole in Hwange, Zimbabwe.

NEW!! Photographic workshops and masterclasses and fine art cards are now available at TRANSIENT LIGHT

I don't think it lacks vitality at all. The color is very rich and the image is as sharp as one could hope for.

You captured it well in the right light. That's all that matters, film v digital I use both, there are some cases I'd chose one over the other. I'd think I'd chose digital for a shot like this now I have the choice, but it's more for the convenience than the look. BV

Kodachrome 200 was definitely one of the best and sharpest of all color films..and that is evident here....this picture is head and shoulders above anything shot with a digital camera...+V
