Bones of Assynt

Loch Assynt, Sutherland, Scotland

Island pine trees are one of the many features of wild Loch Assynt but here I chose to isolate the bare bones of two dead island pines from the main throng and place them against the flaming grasses of an autumnal sunset. The water in the loch was perfectly still and mirrored both the rocky outcrops and a beautiful cloud flecked sky. Blue and gold is one of my favourite combinations for landscape work.
