Standing on this most beautiful of Harris beaches with the wind screaming past my ears and huge waves pounding the shore was indeed memorable, but also fraught with complexity. The light was simply superb but it came at a cost, namely frequent and sudden deluges of rain at intervals barely a minute apart which would often force me to hide my camera. The salt spray deposited on the lens was also incredibly troublesome to manage. It was worth it all though, as the light took on a primevial beauty and I revelled in it.
