Lands End

Covesea, Moray, Scotland

This particular rock stack is barely separated from the cliffs so it looms large in front of you requiring a pretty wide angle lens to include the whole of its remarkably craggy features. Fortunately sunset is behind the stack and I shot this with remnant light in near darkness which lends it an apocalyptic feel as though you have reached the ends of the earth. The sombre brooding mood lends this considerable atmosphere which is totally lacking at other times of the day.
