Sunrise Eildon Hills

Eildon Hills, Melrose, Scottish Borders, Scotland.

I rarely get down this far south but this time I was commissioned to take some photographs in the Eildon Hills and duly stomped up them for a walking magazine in November to photograph a sunrise. As luck would have it the sun put on a fine performance and despite very high winds I captured the sunrise throwing out golden light onto the shapely dome of one of Eildons peaks.

Very nice lighting, the way it's on patches of the main hill. And as you say - controlled the brightess part of the sky very well.

One of my favorites of yours Ian, and it just goes to show that you don't necessarily need to be in the most spectacular mountain locations to get the very best shots, its all down to the weather and light really!
