Summer in Scotland is often a battle of will powers. the summer warmth encourages you to venture forth but those horrible biting midge swarms envelop you and force you back indoors. On this particular morning a breeze kept the worst of them at bay and I was able to exploit the vivid colour of the blooming heather amidst the other vegetation.
