There are few locations that compare with Elgol on Skye, not least because it is an exciting section of coast backed by dramatic mountains that is situated on the west coast, thereby receiving the direct light from a setting sun. On most occasions photographers swarm over it but for some reason this day was devoid of others and I was left alone to forage amongst the pock marked and honeycombed rocks. I opted to photograph the reflected light in conjunction with the incoming tide as the soft light of sunset warmed the backdrop.
