We only spent one night in Zagreb en-rout between Ljubljana in Slovenia and Budapest in Hungary. We had an excellent local guide for the morning. We found the city interesting. However, some buildings appeared to be in a poor state of repair and many of the people looked under stress - probably due to hardship caused by the recent war ending in the break up of the former Yugoslavia. Lets hope for better times.
