VR is nice. This is hand held. Note, however, that I had to pan to freeze the player sharply and this is still needing ISO 1600. If you shoot lots of indoor sports you'll be better off with a faster lens, such as f2.8.

This is unaltered from the camera, except for resizing and sharpening for the web.
