Nave gazing

Amesbury, Wiltshire, UK

"This is the oldest part of the building, being Norman with windows high on either side.
On the South side they were blocked up when the South Aisle was built in the 15th century.

"The present west wall, behind the organ, was inserted in the 19th century
and before that the building extended a further 15 metres or so towards the River Avon."
